Blake Gillespie

Blake Gillespie joined King Operating Corporation in November 2024 as Senior Geoscientist. He is responsible for directing the company’s subsurface evaluations to develop new and existing opportunities for petroleum production. Blake provides leadership to drive growth at King Operating by interpreting and integrating various subsurface data, including well, seismic, core, and production data, to identify and map oil and gas reservoirs of interest. This allows for the strategic acquisition and optimization of acreage through drilling and development operations.
Blake has worked in many disciplines within the upstream oil and gas industry, assuming roles of increasing responsibility over the course of more than three decades. Prior to joining King, he worked for Unocal, Ovintiv (formerly Encana), Kosmos Energy, and Murphy Oil. During his career, he has gained extensive knowledge in exploration, exploitation, operations, and development, with experience in the primary onshore U.S. basins, the offshore Gulf of Mexico, and international basins.
Blake earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Earth Science from Stanford University.
