Check Out My Latest Blog on the Bright Future of Natural Gas
My latest blog on Forbes.com just posted. It is about the bright future of natural gas and why it's a smart investment. With growing demand from things like data centers, air conditioning, and travel, natural gas is becoming more valuable. Plus, new technology is making production more efficient.

Renewable energy is facing some challenges right now, which makes natural gas an even more reliable option. As the U.S. leads the way in natural gas production, this presents a great opportunity for both domestic and global markets.

You can get into all the details in my latest blog, so be sure to check it out on Forbes.com!

Oil & Gas News

Taiwan to Boost U.S. Energy Imports in Bid to Dodge Tariffs
Taiwan plans to increase imports of U.S. oil and gas as part of ongoing tariff negotiations with the Trump administration, President Lai Ching-te announced. The move aims to enhance Taiwan's energy security while addressing trade imbalances. Despite committing to U.S. energy projects like the $44 billion Alaska LNG export project, Taiwan was hit with a 32% tariff—currently paused by Trump for 90 days. With LNG from the U.S. making up about 10% of its total imports, Taiwan joins other Asian nations scrambling to pledge more American energy purchases to avoid steep new tariffs.

BW Energy Strikes Major Oil Find at Bourdon Prospect Offshore Gabon
BW Energy has confirmed a significant oil discovery at the Bourdon prospect in the Dussafu License offshore Gabon, estimating 56 million barrels of oil in place with 25 million barrels recoverable. The successful DBM-1 ST2 sidetrack well supports plans for a new production cluster near the MaBoMo facility, with at least four future wells. The low-viscosity oil—just 3.5 cp—makes it one of the most efficient to produce in the region. The discovery enhances BW Energy’s reserve base and is expected to tie into existing infrastructure, further boosting long-term value in Gabon.

First Horizon: Energy Lending Strategy Adapts to Consolidation and Market Changes

Moni Collins, SVP of energy lending at First Horizon Bank, discusses the evolving landscape in oil and gas lending as consolidation reduces the number of available investment opportunities. Despite this, First Horizon remains committed to the energy sector, focusing on offering strong service and creative solutions to clients. For smaller oil and gas producers looking to raise funds for drilling, this environment presents positive opportunities. With larger companies consolidating, banks are stepping up to support smaller producers through more flexible capital solutions. This shift allows these smaller players to form smaller, more manageable syndicates, securing financing without the need for larger banking groups. Additionally, as capital deployment becomes more focused, banks are able to offer more personalized and efficient support to these producers, enabling them to pursue drilling and other growth opportunities.

Move to Watch

Chevron/TotalEnergies Launch Ballymore Oil Production in Gulf of America
Chevron and TotalEnergies have begun oil and gas production from the Ballymore project, a subsea tieback in the deepwater Gulf of America. Connected to Chevron's Blind Faith platform, Ballymore is expected to yield up to 75,000 barrels of oil and 50 million cubic feet of gas per day from three wells. The project, completed on time and within budget, taps into an estimated 150 million barrels of oil equivalent and marks Chevron’s first development in the Norphlet trend. Chevron operates the project with a 60% stake, while TotalEnergies holds 40%. This is Chevron’s third Gulf project to go live since mid-2024, contributing to its goal of producing 300,000 boe/d from the region by 2026.
