Tim Snyder is the founder of Matador Economics, a firm specializing in applied economics, economic development, and market analysis. He holds a degree from Texas Tech University and began his career at Dean Witter Reynolds as a broker and economist. Tim quickly earned his Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, advancing to the role of Securities Registered Representative (Stockbroker). Within three years, he took on additional responsibilities as a Syndicate Coordinator, managing initial public offerings (IPOs) and other offerings through a network of broker-dealers. He later became a licensed Commodities Broker, enabling him to work on corporate hedge programs in agriculture and energy.
In 2005, Tim founded Matador Economics, where, for nearly two decades, he has provided critical economic analyses and strategic advice to clients worldwide. His expertise spans energy market analysis, agricultural development services, and macroeconomic analysis for sectors such as banking, real estate, and mortgages.
With more than 20 years of experience in communications, Tim co-hosts the daily radio program “This Week’s Ag with Wade & Tim,” which covers topics in agriculture, energy, and politics and is broadcast throughout West Texas, the Permian Basin, and the Texas Panhandle. He is also a regular on SiriusXM, where he delivers a weekly economic wrap-up on Channel 146 for the show “Road Dog Trucking with Mark Willis.” As a recognized subject matter expert, Tim frequently contributes to various Fox Radio affiliates and serves as an energy and economics expert for Thomson Reuters. Additionally, through Matador Economics, he publishes daily and weekly economic briefs and a monthly inflation index calculator.
